ob Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Data Engineer with expertise in spatial data conversion, particularly in managing and converting Well-Known Text (WKT) geometries within a PostgreSQL/PostGIS environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing spatial databases, performing complex spatial analysis, and ensuring the accurate conversion of various geospatial formats.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain geospatial databases using PostgreSQL with PostGIS extension.
Perform data conversions involving WKT, WKB (Well-Known Binary), and other geospatial formats.
Write complex SQL queries to handle spatial data manipulation, analysis, and transformation.
Design and implement database schema for spatial data storage, including geometry and geography types.
Conduct spatial analysis and provide actionable insights using PostGIS functions (e.g., ST_GeomFromText, ST_AsText, ST_Transform).
Automate data processing workflows and optimize performance for handling large spatial datasets.
Ensure data integrity and quality control for geospatial data handling.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data with other business systems and applications.
Stay updated on advancements in GIS technology, databases, and spatial analysis techniques.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience working with PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
